Aficionados will already be familiar with many of the moments in this live filmed recreation of some of the Radio 4 institution’s greatest hits. But if there is a morsel of spontaneity lacking, it’s more than offset by the joy of seeing Brooke-Taylor trilling the words of the Smiths’ Girlfriend in a Coma to the tune of Tiptoe Through the Tulips or Garden impersonating Darth Vader impersonating Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest.

Being able to witness the affectionate glances and delighted reactions really adds to the fun. And, of course, there’s Humph, looking decidely frail in one of his last appearances, but still attacking those filthy monologues with gusto.
