Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks have plenty of time for graphic sex in Kevin Smith’s fatuous rom-com Zack and Miri Make a Porno. Indeed, the two impoverished flatmates who have been best friends since school reach the spicy conclusion that all their money problems can be solved by making a porn film. It’s a titillating farce about old friends who turn gooey when they have to “perform” – purely for business – in front of a camera.

Rogen is an amiable and chubby clown, and quite possibly the most unconvincing romantic hero since Adam Sandler. Banks is a plucky and feisty beauty who fails to notice that she is madly in love with Rogen. It’s a miss that most of the world can understand.

The two grungy heroes hire various friends and fellow workers to do most of the comic midnight grunting in the coffee shop where Rogen works during the day. The supporting cast show ample amounts of jiggling flesh; needless to say the two main stars fail to shed a stitch. Correction: Rogen bares his extremely hairy bottom for two cheeky boys. This is the most soppy and unsexy 18-certificate skin-flick ever made.
