Moore's new role
Philip Moore, the former chief executive of Friends Provident, has joined Pension Corporation (PC), the pension buyout firm, almost a year after being ousted from the insurer after the collapse of its planned £8.8 billion merger with Resolution. Mr Moore — who was forced to step down last December when Resolution ditched the deal in favour of an alternative tie-up with Pearl, a rival — will be “facilitating the strategic development” of PC, the buyout firm said. Mr Moore, who previously was Friends' finance director, becomes group finance partner, effective immediately.
Jeffrey steps up
Richard Jeffrey will take on the role of chief investment officer at Cazenove Capital when Anne West steps down in January. Ms West will stay involved, on a part-time basis, with Cazenove Capital's Private Wealth Management business. Mr Jeffrey joined Cazenove Capital this year to work alongside Ms West as chief economist and strategist. He previously held senior roles at Hoare Govett (now ABN Amro), Charterhouse Securities, Bridgewell and Ingenious Securities.
