The members of MyFootballClub, who own Ebbsfleet United, have 48 hours to decide whether to accept a £140,000 offer from an unnamed Football League club for John Akinde.
Liam Daish, the head coach, David Davis, the chief executive, and John Moules, the chairman, agreed the terms of the deal that includes further payments depending on performances plus a percentage of any sell-on fee, but the members now have the final say on whether it goes through.
"The fans are legal owners of the club," Will Brookes, the MyFootballClub founder, told the BBC. "Whereas transfers at other clubs are decided by a few board members this decision will be taken by 30,000 board members."
In November, 20,000 MyFootballClub members paid £35 each to raise the £700,000 needed to take control of Ebbsfleet giving them an equal share in the club. Since then members have voted on a number of major decisions including the price of season-tickets and the weekly playing budget, but this is the first time a transfer will be decided by the fans.

The transfer will be decided by the manager (Liam Daish), the CEO (David Davis) and the Chairman (John Moules) just like at any other fooball club - the vote is just a poll to gauge the opinion of members. The results of the poll are in no way binding on the decision makers.
