Can you suggest some good restaurants to visit on our three-day stopover in Hong Kong - preferably somewhere a bit special smart and with a nice view? Paul Cartwright, York
Sunday Times travel expert Richard Green responds: For a great meal with a view, you should head to the distinctive curved glass front of the One Peking Road building. The smart Aqua express lift whisks you up to the jaw-dropping penthouse on the 29th and 30th floors, where you enter Aqua Tokyo (00 852 3427 2288). It is minimalist and swanky, and serves divine sushi and sashimi, with Taraba crab tempura a speciality, in front of 18 feet high windows overlooking Hong Kong harbour and island.
Expect to pay about £50 a head, and Sunday brunch all the rage in Hong Kong is good value £28 from noon till four.
In the same building is Aqua Roma for Italian, and Aqua Hutong for Chinese, and Aqua Spirit, a chill out bar above Aqua Tokyo. I'd say Aqua Tokyo should be your first choice: it packs more pizzazz than the other two and has those priceless soaring windows.
Or, for an amazing view looking back across the harbour to Kowloon, you should choose a clear day and catch the Peak Tram up to the Victoria Peak for lunch. Pearl on the Peak (00 852 2849 5123) is in the Peak Tower and has fine dining with fabulous views. The food is modern Australian, with hints of Middle Eastern and Asian overseen by Geoff Lindsay, chef at the Pearl in Melbourne.
Try to reserve a window table, and expect to pay about £45 a head. You can get the same view for less at the Cafe Deco (852 2849 5111). It is in the same building and has an extremely wide ranging menu - pasta and pizzas are from £10 for example.
Other places to live it up are Spoon by Alain Ducasse at the Intercontinental (with fantastic panoramic harbourside windows), and Pierre or Man Wah (both on the 25th floor of the Mandarin Oriental). And if you have time to venture out of the city centre, try The Verandah at The Repulse Bay - slick old-style service amid parquet floors, wooden shutters and ceiling fans.
